Day 3, Wednesday, March 18th, by Theo Killoran

Today we started our day out by reading our book, Ben Hogan's Five Lessons. We covered chapter 2, which went through the stance needed for proper form, especially in the arms and elbows. After that, Brandon showed us the proper way to use your arms and hands and elbows when lining up

your swing.

After that, we left the school around 9:35 and went to First tee F.M Law park, and started our morning there with a drill to help us with chipping with accuracy and correct power. In the drill, people split into groups of 3, where they would try to chip a ball into a square region, or a circle with the hole inside of the square region for points, and whoever had the most points in the group won. After that game, we went over to the driving range and started off by hitting with your wedge, just going for a warmup and for accuracy.

Once we were all warmed up, the coaches had us do another drill where we used our wedge to try and hit a tee out of the ground, which was located right in front of our ball. We continued with our drill for about 20 more minutes before the coaches left us on our own to continue hitting at the driving range. We stayed at the driving range enjoying various methods and ways to hit the golf balls before Brandon taught us another drill that focused on getting the full range of motion in your hips. We continued at the driving range for a bit more until around 12:00 where we went to eat lunch under the shaded pavilion.

After lunch, we split up into groups. One of the groups, which had Ms. Novak, Isa, Madeline, and Federico went over to the putting and chipping green to work on putting and chipping while the other group, led by Brandon, went to play a few holes on the actual golf course. In the first group, Declan, Tory, Brandon, Mr. Zhou all went first on the course. After they finished their first hole, Me, Aidric, Chase, and Colin all did the hole after them and continued on the course, being just about one hole behind them. After doing holes 4 and 5, we finished the day at the course, and headed back to the bus and loaded it up.

Finally, once we got back to the school, we did our presentations on the famous golfer that we researched. We started with Brandon and Federico, who did John Daly, Tory and Declan, who did Lorena Ochoa, Me and Colin, who did Rory Mcilroy, Aidric and Isa, who did Arnold Palmer, and Chase and Madeline, who did Scottie Scheffler.

Overall, our day was super fun and helpful. The coaches were a tremendous help and it seemed like everybody had progressed a lot on their overall golfing skills.
