Day 6: Monday March 23rd - Chase Welsh

On our 6th day of our Golf M-term, we finally got to put all that we learned to use at Top Golf!

Our results of the Golf terms Quiz, as well as my Test, where I got 25/25 and a smiley face!

As we first arrived at school at 8:30, of course, Brandon gave us a test focusing on the Golf terms we had learned throughout the first week of our M-term. We had 30 minutes to study our golf term sheets from the week before. As our study time had come to an end at 9, we all focused, wished each other good luck, and started. I am pretty good at memorization and tried to pay good attention this week, so I got 25/25 and a smiley face, along with Declan, Ms. Novak, and Federico (I'm not counting Brandon since he made the test). Then, once we had gotten our scores back, we set off to Top Golf!

This is us arriving at Top Golf!

Probably one of the most exciting and fun events we have had during our Golf M-Term was Top Golf, finally getting to show our new knowledge we have acquired from this M-Term so far.

Here is Declan being upset that I beat him, and everyone is taking turns playing!

When we arrived, we had two bays booked and ready for us to start! We divided into two groups of 6; I was with Declan, Tory, Aidric, Colin, and Theo. We picked different game modes to play on, one of them was Angry Birds, where you have to knock down a tower with birds on a slingshot, depending on where your ball goes. Another one of the games was called Block Party, where you earn more points based on your accuracy in getting your ball into the differently sized and distanced holes. I personally could tell that what I had learned over the golf term was really coming into use and was dramatically affecting how well I was doing, same with everyone else.

We had booked Top Golf for two and a half hours from 10:00 to 12:30, and between then we were pleasantly surprised with an assortment of food and drinks, some of us also ordered extra food such as wings and pizza. I think the food was very good and definitely helped me perform better!

Then sadly, as the clock hit 12:30, we had to leave Top Golf. We all had a great time, and I personally found it to be an extremely fun way to show off and use the skills we had learned with each other!

For the rest of the day, we worked on presentations focusing on famous or well-known golf courses all over the world. For Madeleines and my presentation, we didn't pick one of the list but instead chose to do Memorial Parks Golf Course, as it is where we will end up going later in the week (Stay tuned). We both polished off our presentation, then at 2:30, we all started to present.  The Golf courses that we presented on were TPC Sawgrass by Aidric & Isa, St. Andrews by Federico & Brandon, and Pinehurst by Declan & Tory. Personally, I found St. Andrews to be extremely interesting as it is where golf originated from and started. Everyone got an ME on our presentations, and once we had all finished, school had ended! Overall, today was a great day, being able to finally show off our new golf skills, and we all passed our quiz. Can't wait for tomorrow!
